After his retirement from competitive swimming in 1992, Mark joined the family business. Since that time he has been the driving force behind the steady growth and commercial focus of Stockwell.
As Managing Director of Stockwell, Mark has seen the company diversify as an investor, developer, builder, project manager and property manager of industrial, retail, commercial, residential and leisure developments.
He has been quick to identify opportunities in the retail market and Stockwell currently owns shopping centres throughout regional Queensland in Sarina, Bargara, Murgon, Mackay, Noosa, Tewantin, Ipswich and in Brisbane.
He is a Past President of the Property Council of Australia, Queensland Division and served on the National Board for 2 years. His leadership of and input to the Property Council and review of a raft of planning legislation and Government policies relating to the property industry, has enhanced the profile of the Property Council with Government.
Mark is currently Chairman and a Trustee of the St Laurence's Old Boys' Foundation which funds educational scholarships for boys at St Laurence's College whose families could not otherwise afford their son's educational fees.
He is a Trustee of the Stockwell Foundation, founded by Mark and his wife Tracy to benefit children in need.
Mark chaired the Gold Coast’s successful Bid to host the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
