Mark Stockwell

Mark commenced his career as an elite swimmer representing Australia at the 1984 Olympics and 1986 Commonwealth Games. After Mark’s retirement from swimming in 1992, he joined the family business (Stockwell) established by his parents Bill and Necia Stockwell.

In 1994 Mark became Managing Director of Stockwell and since then has seen the company diversify as an investor, developer, builder and project, property and funds manager to include industrial, retail, commercial, residential and leisure development.

Mark has been quick to identify opportunities in the retail and residential market.

Mark is a past President of the Queensland Division of the Property Council of Australia and served on the National Board for 2 years.

Mark was the Chairman of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Organising Committee, having led the bid through 2010 -2011 to win the right to host the Games. Mark was Mayor of the Village during the Games.

Mark is a former Deputy Chair of Australian Sports Commission which is Australia’s primary national sports administration agency. He is also Chair of the Australian Sports Foundation whose purpose is to raise money for the development of sport in Australia.

Mark is the inaugural Chairman of Trade and Investment QLD, the Queensland Government’s foreign investment and export program.
