Stockwell has achieved Development Approval for Hervey Bay Central, marking an important milestone in the delivery of a new retail and community hub for Nikenbah and the wider Hervey Bay region.

The approval brings together shopping, dining, health services, recreation and child care in one location.

Approved for staged development, the project includes:

• Supermarket and 1,460 sqm of retail, medical and commercial space across 16 tenancies.

• Tavern and drive-through bottle shop.

• Swim school.

• 100-place childcare centre.

• 413 car parks across the site.

This mix will give local residents more options close to home, bringing several regular activities into one destination. Families can combine grocery shopping with child care drop-offs or swimming lessons, while the medical and commercial tenancies will create opportunities for service providers to establish a local presence.

Building communities means considering both the services people need and the places where they spend time together. The proposed food and drink outlets and tavern will offer settings for social connection, while the swim school and child care centre will support families through learning, recreation and care.

Located next to Solana Hervey Bay, the centre will add everyday convenience for Solana residents and provide further opportunities to connect with the wider neighbourhood.
