Top Tips for Moving into a New Residential Community

Put yourself out there! There is a lot to be said for the expression, “see & be seen”. Getting yourself out and about in your new community is the best way to start making new friends. Taking regular walks around the neighbourhood or spending time in the gardens or at the community facilities allows you the opportunity to meet and connect with others.

Join a club! Most of our addresses offer many different clubs and activities. This can be a great way to find like-minded folks and get involved. Having common interests like book club or walking makes it easier to engage in conversation and grow new relationships.  And if a club you are interested does not yet exist – start one yourself.

Volunteer! Find out if there are any volunteer groups in your new area that you can sign up with. This can include anything from community gardening to a charitable cause that you feel passionate about. There may even be a fellow neighbour in need of a helping hand with chores or errands that you could offer your time to.

Explore! Our projects are in lifestyle suburbs that you will love to explore! With shopping and dining and cultural activities, there is something for every-on. Keep track of local events, or local markets and festivals happening year-round, and be sure to take part!

Making a fresh start can take time and patience. It is important to be proactive in your efforts to get out and about in your new community, and you will find yourself making new friends and enjoying an active lifestyle in no time!
